Pingmen is a game for Android TV and tablets, with a companion site at pingmen.games. This document explains what personal data we process, why, who receives it and what rights you have. It covers both the game and the site — they share one account, so splitting them would make little sense.

Who processes your data

The data controller is Adam Fiala, trading as Inganno, business ID (IČO) 71784802, registered at Nad Meandry 3290/3, 106 00 Prague 10 – Záběhlice, Czech Republic. We have no data protection officer — for anything privacy related, write straight to pingmen@inganno.com.

What we process

The scope depends on what you do in the game. You can play without signing in.

Playing without an account

On first launch the game creates an anonymous account and stores a randomly generated identifier on your device. It is not an advertising ID, nor an identifier assigned by Android — it exists only for Pingmen and keeps your results between sessions. Alongside it we store the platform type (TV, tablet) and the time you were last active. Filling in a player name is optional.

Signing in with Google

When you sign in, Google gives us your email address, the name on your account and a link to your profile picture. We never see your Google password. Signing in ties your game progress to your identity on the site, so results from the TV also show up in the browser.

Public profile

Your profile has a handle, and you can add a display name, a short bio and your own avatar. This data is public — anyone can find it at pingmen.games/u/your-handle, and it appears next to your levels in the hub. An uploaded avatar sits in public storage, so its link opens even for someone who has never seen your profile. Do not put anything here you would not want out in the open.

Game statistics

For each match we store the result, score, duration, level, opponent type and a few derived numbers — longest rally, bounce count, biggest lead and so on. We also store the start time and your device's time zone offset, so achievements tied to the time of day can be calculated. This powers your profile statistics and achievements. We do not sell it and do not use it for advertising.

Levels you create

A level built in the editor is stored with its name and brick layout. While it stays private, only you can see it. Once you publish it, it appears in the community hub along with your handle, like count and play count. We also keep track of which levels you liked and last played, so the hub makes sense.

Buying slots

Slots for publishing levels are paid through Stripe. Your card number and payment details never reach us — Stripe handles the whole payment on its own pages. All we get back is a payment identifier, the pack you bought, the amount and the currency. Stripe sends the receipt to whichever email you enter at checkout.

Operational data

The servers running the site and the database keep ordinary operational logs — IP address, browser type, time and requested address. They serve to run the service and spot abuse, they are kept briefly and we do not link them to your profile.

Why we process it

  • To provide the game — account, progress, statistics, editor and hub. Without this data the game would not work. The legal basis is performance of a contract.
  • To handle purchases — crediting slots and issuing proof of payment. The legal basis is performance of a contract and an obligation under tax law.
  • To keep the service running and safe — operational logs and abuse protection. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a working service that is not being abused.

Who receives the data

We do not sell personal data and we do not pass it to anyone for advertising. We work only with providers the service could not run without:

  • Supabase — database, sign-in and avatar storage. The data sits on servers in the European Union (Stockholm).
  • Vercel — site hosting, processes operational logs.
  • Stripe — payment processing and receipts. For payment data Stripe is not merely our supplier but a controller in its own right: it also processes that data for its own purposes, mainly fraud prevention and the obligations it carries as a payment institution. It does so under its own privacy policy.
  • Google — sign-in. The sign-in button loads from Google's servers, so Google knows you visited a page carrying it even if you never sign in.

Some of them are based outside the European Union. Such transfers are covered by the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

How long we keep it

  • Account, profile and game data — for as long as you use the account.
  • Purchase records — for as long as tax and accounting rules require, even if you close the account in the meantime.
  • Operational logs — for as long as our hosting provider keeps them. We do not archive them ourselves or copy them anywhere else.

If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your profile, game statistics and uploaded avatar. Levels you published and others have since played may stay in the hub, detached from your identity.

Your rights

When it comes to your personal data, you have the right to:

  • know what we process about you and get a copy,
  • have inaccurate data corrected,
  • have it erased, if we no longer have a reason to hold it,
  • restrict the processing or object to it,
  • receive the data in a machine-readable form and take it elsewhere.

Your handle, name, bio and avatar are editable right in your profile settings. For anything else, write to pingmen@inganno.com — we will reply within a month at the latest. If you believe we are handling your data badly, you can complain to the Czech Data Protection Authority, Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, uoou.gov.cz.

Cookies

We use no analytics and no advertising tools, and we do not track you across sites. The only cookies the site stores keep you signed in — without them you would be logged out on every page load. The law does not require consent for those, which is why we never ask. Google may set its own cookies during sign-in.

Children

Anyone can play the game, but accounts and public profiles are not meant for children under 15 — that is the age from which a child can consent to the processing of their own data with online services under Czech law. For a younger child, a parent should set the account up, or at least go through it with them. If we find out we obtained a child's data without a parent's knowledge, we delete it. If you are a parent and think this happened, get in touch.

Changes

If the scope of processing changes, we will update this document and move the date at the top. For significant changes we will say so in the game or on the site.
